Finishing books can translate into finishing other obligations I tend to forestall.
Finished Proust's In Search of Lost Time Volume I. Borrowing it from the library made me stick to a deadline.
I'm enjoying the field recording experience, it focuses my attention on the world around me, I try to imagine what the recorder will pick up. It also adds an autoficion element to life, I re-listen to conversations and wonder what will happen next
Added a markdown parser to the website's code, making writing articles like the 'tools' page easier.
The field recording experience provides detachment from the reality of daily life, I observe myself and think: "Huh, what will happen next?" as I re-listen to tapes. It provides an outside viewpoint, which is not easy to achieve even through journaling.
Added a 'tools' page to my website here https://emil.graphics/tools
Looking to buy a field recorder, maybe a Sony ICD-UX570.
Made more drawings in the first 10 weeks of 2025 than in the entirety of last year.
Artset never screwed me over, even with its janky UI, but I've lost files in Procreate due to misclicks.
Started playing Xenogears again, the iPad does a good job emulating PSX games. It does take away from reading time though and I have a book to finish in the next 2 weeks.
The website RSS feed now has blogposts mixed in with the art updates. Along with some SEO and layout changes, the site is very tidy.
Added a blog to my site that will contain updates. See it here: https://emil.graphics/blog
Next update for the art website most likely will be a blog section, containing these same micro posts. It WILL have an RSS feed, just like the art updates do.
I created a heatmap that shows how often art gets uploaded to my website. See it here: https://emil.graphics/stats
Would it be cringe to crosspost updates on all my socials simultaneously? I wrote a lil script to help me do it
